POPLOAD GIG apresenta… THEOPHILUS LONDON e A$AP ROCKY @ Cine Jóia

O festival Popload Gig, braço realizador deste blog, tem o prazer de anunciar mais uma edição. Depois do explosivo Popload Gig de janeiro, com a banda dance punk americana The Rapture, vem aí uma edição “diferente”.

Os incríveis THEOPHILUS LONDON e (o “encrenqueiro”) A$AP ROCKY estrelam o que seria o Popload Gig 11, mas a partir de agora apenas Popload Gig, porque a gente já passou do 10 e cansou dos números, haha.

* Essa bombástica noite acontece no dia 24 de maio, no CINE JOIA, em São Paulo. Mais uma atração está para ser anunciada.

* Theophilus London é do Brooklyn, NYC, mas não é do pós-rock. Ele é do pós-hip hop. Cita Smiths em músicas, trabalha com Mark Ronson e Damon Albarn, os caras do TV on the Radio são fã deles e os do Yeah Yeah Yeahs, também. Faz um hip hop torto, é musicalmente mais ''louco'' que o ''colega'' Tyler the Creator, mais inventivo. Lançou o primeiro disco no ano passado, bem batizado de ''Timez Are Weird These Days'', e foi capa style da estilosa revista ''Wax Poetics'' deste jeito.

* A$AP Rocky está balançando o novo rap americano. A capa da nova ''Dazed & Confused'' britânica diz que ele está ''Ready to Rock'': ''Depois de apenas uma mixtape lançada, apareceu nas mãos dele um contrato de gravadora de 3 milhões de dólares. Todo mundo quer saber o que ele vai fazer de agora em diante''. Do coração do Harlem, em Nova York, dizem que ASAP Rocky é tipo um ''ortodoxo do rap'', ao mesmo tempo que ninguém tem seu estilo. Direto e reto. Lançou no começo de 2012 uma música que causou furor nos blogs de música, a poderosa ''Pretty Flacko'', uma das canções mais incríveis deste ano. Natural a gente querer ele para a Popload GiG. Eis, A$AP Rocky na capa da ''Dazed & Confused''.
