Radiohead: uma banda de… rock

* Popload em Los Angeles. Vim para aquele programa de Índio. Fiquei muito agradecido pelo Coachella visto muito bem no Youtube , no primeiro final de semana, o passado. Mas tinha que vir para ver de perto a segunda parte, neste finde.

Peraí que um amigo nosso vai passar, agora.

* A capa da “Rolling Stone” que está nas bancas daqui é o Radiohead, atração master do Coachella. A pegada da revista é engraçada, mas não deixa de ter seu ponto: “Como a banda mais experimental do mundo voltou a ser uma banda de rock”. Ou, nas exatas palavras da revista, “aprendeu a ser banda de rock novamente”.

O texto fala de uma certa reinvenção do Radiohead. Um novo começo, não uma continuação. De como eles estavam meio acomodados e começaram a se meter em encrencas logísticas. E que disso saiu um espírito “vamos nos virar” mais roqueiro. De como o “The King of Limbs” é incrível ao vivo para uma banda (eles) tocar, mas que não imaginaram que seriam tanto. Estavam com medo. E que o disco não é “final”. Ele é só um rito de passagem para o “novo Radiohead” que vem aí. Vige.

A conversa da revista (David Fricke) com Thom Yorke discute os preparativos da mais extensa turnê do Radiohead desde 2008. Serão no total 58 shows em 10 meses, percorrendo América do Norte, Europa, Ásia e Oceania. Pô. Tirando a África, que não necessariamente tem o hábito de ter muitos shows de bandas de rock dos EUA e da Europa, ficou faltando SÓ UM continente nesta lista, não?
