Parem as máquinas. A Inglaterra já tem sua nova “the next big thing” na música. Moleque esperto da região de Nottingham, Jake Bugg, um ainda adolescente de 18 aninhos, começa a dar o que falar nos blogs alternativos e nos grandes canais também.

Ele, que aprendeu a tocar violão aos 12 (!), começou a compor aos 14 (!!) e se apresentou no Glastonbury aos 17 (!!!), é a nova aposta da importante gravadora Mercury Records, que prepara seu álbum debut para ser lançado dia 22 de outubro.

Dono de um vocal arrastado e um indie-folk-country nervoso, Jake Bugg é considerado o novo Alex Turner, com veia de Bob Dylan e tem como algumas de suas principais influências os Beatles, Don McLean, Oasis, Jimi Hendrix e Donovan.

Mesmo sem lançar um álbum, já teve música sua sendo trilha de comercial de cerveja no Reino Unido. “Country Song” foi utilizada em uma campanha da cervejaria Greene King IPA no início deste ano.

Outra canção, “Trouble Town”, também já foi tocada nas rádios e apresentada como “single of the week” pelo bamba Zane Lowe, na BBC Radio One. Agora com contrato assinado, Bugg trabalha a faixa “Lightning Bolt”, apresentada por ele ao vivo no programa de Jools Holland, que foi ao ar ontem.

Pelo jeito, o moleque vai longe. É bom a gente não perdê-lo de vista.
