Bonde do Rolê Day – Para entender “Tropical/Bacanal”

1. A capa: feita pelo ilustrador argentino Federico Lamas, oferece uma visão dúbia, ou alternativa, dos elementos da imagem. Elas são uma coisa a olho nu e outra quando vista pelo ''visor infernal'' (uma lente vermelha que acompanha o disco). Os integrantes do Bonde na capa viram ''bichinhos demoníacos'' com o filtro vermelho.

2. Caetano e os convidados: o veterano músico baiano Caetano Veloso é um dos vários colaboradores musicais de ''Tropical/Bacanal''. No encarte do disco, num desenho que serve de agradecimento da banda, Caetano está sentado no sofá, à esquerda da imagem. A cantora jamaicana Ce' Cile, o grupo inglês de hip hop Rizzle Kicks, o rapper americano Kool A.D. (do Das Racist), Filip Nikolic (do duo californiano eletrônico Poolside) e a banda art punk australiana The Death Seth são os outros colaboradores de faixas do disco e estão entre os representados no desenho de agradecimento que monta o encarte de ''Tropical/Bacanal'' .


(Caetano está à esquerda da foto, sentado no sofá, conversando com o DJ e produtor gaúcho Chernobyl. Diplo, Ce'Cil e os meninos do Bonde estão à direita do CD.)

3. O som: de banda curitibana de funk carioca que viajou o mundo em 2007/2008, o Bonde do Rolê mistura de disco music e ragga a rockabilly e psicodelia, brasileira e gringa. É um outro rolê. A banda agora também canta em inglês.

4. O movimento: dentro da cena brasileira geral, o Bonde do Rolê integra uma outra cena, em particular, chamada Avalanche Tropical, um coletivo musical de bandas, DJs e ideias que impõe uma latinidade forte à cena dance e tem ainda as bandas Uó, Holger e DJs como André Paste, Dago e Drunk Disco. A grosso modo, temos o indie-lambada.

5.
