Showzão da Sandy passa ao vivo para 2 bilhões de pessoas hoje, estrelando…

* A maior junção recente de grandes nomes da música para uma enorme causa acontece hoje à noite no gigante Madison Square Garden, aqui em Nova York. As dimensões de tudo se justificam.
Artistas como Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Jay-Z, Dave Grohl e bandas do tamanho de Rolling Stones e The Who se reúnem em um evento beneficente para as vítimas da supertempestade Sandy, furacão que devastou parte do nordeste americano (e Caribe) em outubro, deixando mais de 250 pessoas mortas e um prejuízo calculado de US$ 65 bilhões.

O evento, que se chama 121212 (12 de dezembro de 2012) e tem a extensão ''The Concert for Sandy Relief'', contará ainda com apresentações de Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, Alicia Keys, Bon Jovi, Eddie & Vedder, Billy Joel e Chris Martin, do Coldplay. O jornal inglês ''The Guardian'' desde ontem à noite divulga que Grohl, Novoselic e o guitarrista Pat Smear vão reviver nesta noite, no MSG, nada menos que a banda Nirvana, só que no lugar de Kurt Cobain vai estar SÓ o Paul McCartney.

Está sendo alardeado por seus produtores como o ''o concerto ao vivo de maior alcance da história''.
Projeta-se que em torno de 2 bilhões de pessoas verão as performances ao vivo. Perto de 20 mil pessoas esgotaram rapidamente os ingressos beneficentes para estar no Madison Square Garden.

O 121212 será mostrado ao vivo ainda por dezenas de TVs americanas e um outro tanto pelo mundo. O evento terá transmissão em 27 cinemas da área de Nova York e New Jersey. Mais de 150 rádios farão o concerto ser ouvido por todos os EUA. E 28 sites são incumbidos de realizar o streaming das apresentações pela internet.
No Brasil, o canal pago Multishow anuncia a transmissão do 121212 ao vivo, a partir das 22h30 (19h30 no horário de Nova York). A previsão é de os concertos, ao todo, somem quatro horas de duração.

O site oficial do 121212 incentiva a doação de dinheiro para a causa, em nome do fundo de assistência Robin Hood Foundation, que desde 1988 combate a pobreza na região de Nova York, uma das cidades mais ricas do mundo.
Além do elenco musical, um time de personalidades participarão do 121212, introduzindo os shows ou falando como o Sandy afetou a vida de quem estava em seu caminho. Leonardo DiCaprio, Quentin Tarantino, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Jamie Foxx e Jon Stewart estão entre eles. Parte dos ingressos para o Madison Square Garden desta noite foram distribuídos de graça aos moradores das regiões de New Jersey e Nova York afetadas.

    The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.

    Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

    I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
