Paul Rees, editor da Q, está eufórico com a edição de aniversário da revista. Ele acredita que o fato de se disponibilizar de graça um álbum tributo ao clássico de uma das maiores bandas da história do rock, com versões diferentes, é um marco para a revista. “Cada faixa é inédita e regravada por alguns dos maiores ícones da música, como Jack White, Nine Inch Nails e Patti Smith. Por outro lado, esse álbum mostra material de artistas que não víamos faz um tempo, como The Killers, Damien Rice e Garbage”, disse ele.

E é justamente do Killers um dos esforços sonoros mais próximos de uma versão original. Brandon Flowers sempre deixou claro que gostaria que sua banda fosse o novo U2. Ou maior que o U2. Ou um U2 do indie. Bom, seja lá o que for, Flowers e seu The Killers não poderiam ficar de fora do álbum tributo “AHK-toong BAY-bi Covered”.

O grupo pop/rock/brega aparece com versão bem boa para “Ultra Violet (Light My Way)”. É o Brandon realizando um sonho, diz aí.
