* Parece que agora vai. De forte burburinho no ano passado à realidade agora em fevereiro de 2012, a peculiar banda inglesa Spector começa a virar a banda nova queridinha dos ingleses. Quinteto de moleques de Londres que se vestem como dândis ingleses, de terno da Topshop, tipo saídos das escolas ricas direto para a garagem (limpa), o Spector atravessa agora o Reino Unido, em shows headliners, depois de seguir Florence & The Machine e Vaccines em tour como atração de abertura. De farra, acompanhei o show do grupo ontem em Liverpool, pelo Twitter, e a galera estava postando bem entusiasmada. O single novo, ''Chevy Thunder'', que desde o finalzinho de 2011 estava bombadinha em blogs e na virada virou vídeo cool, agora ''pegou''. Não pára de tocar nas rádios inglesas tipo One e XFM e está em primeiro lugar na ''NME Radio'', emissora no caminho inverso das normais e cada vez mais, digamos, profissional. Em março, botaram o Spector e suas gravatinhas para circularem pelo fundamental (para bandas novas) South by Southwest, no Texas. Em abril, a banda mostra sua cara no deserto da Califórnia, no gigante Coachella Festival. Depois disso voltam correndo para a Inglaterra para lançar o álbum de estréia. E, depois disso, mergulham nos festivais de verão. Vamos acompanhar.

* Tava fuçando ontem a internet e achei um vídeo bom deles, de 12 minutos tocando no Reading Festival, na tendinha da BBC para bandas iniciantes. ''Chevy Thunder'' abre o show deles.

* Quase os peguei ao vivo nessa atual turnê britânica. Eles tocaram em Glasgow, Escócia, no agora meu clube gringo favorito King Tut's, dois ou três dias depois que eu voltei para Londres. Quase cogitei de ficar lá, mas daí perderia o Black Keys, acho. Achei melhor não. Desse show do King Tut's, peguei o outro pequeno hit deles, a rasgada ''Never Fade Away'', que eles usam para encerrar as apresentações. Acompanhe com palminhas.
