Eles são os Embaixadores da Paz e da Magia do século 21

* Ali no meio de dezembro, quando em Nova York, dei um pulo no show do Of Montreal. Não para ver de noooovo a banda de Kevin Barnes, que em 2012 apareceu no Popload Gig, mas para ver a atração de abertura, o grupo californiano psicodélico FOXYGEN, que habita os arredores de Los Angeles.

Foi um horror a apresentação. Som zoado (atração de abertura sofre…) naturalmente, baixo e desencontrado, molecada novinha crua, sem saber o que fazer num palco como o do Webster Hall, em Nova York. Parecia o primeiro show de uma banda na vida. E sem ensaio. Tudo errado, tadinhos.

Nem parecia que o Foxygen era dono de duas das músicas mais incríveis e lindas que eu ouvi no ano passado, haha. Falei aqui da maravilhosa ''Shuggie'', misto de Modern Lovers com Velvet Underground e Belle & Sebastian, que foi lançada como single em outubro.

Essa coisa ''Jonathan Richman-Lou Reed-Stuart Murdoch'' a que eu usei para ''explicar'' o Foxygen no parágrafo acima é uma definição que só não é melhor que a que a banda usa para eles próprios: ''Galera de colégio obcecada por Brian Jonestown Massacre''. Gênios(zinhos).

Pois bote mais uma música cool na conta do Foxygen. Eles acabam de lançar a delícia ''San Francisco'', em single e vídeo, canção que vai estar no álbum de estreia da banda, ''We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace and Magic'', que sai na semana que vem nos EUA.

Dá uma ouvida na ''complexidade pop'' que tem essa galerinha de colégio de LA. Na música e na letra. Vê se é possível ser tão bonito. Juro, estou chocado.

    I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod.
