O South by Southwest, festival sumariamente conhecido como de “novas tendências” musicais, culturais, interativas e tecnológicas de Austin, Texas, tem seus momentos de “velharias”. Não o Depeche Mode, não o Iggy Pop, não o Prince. Mas o Justin Timberlake, “velho” na casa dos 30.

O grande nome da música pop fez um show secreto para o MySpace em uma casa para apenas 800 pessoas. Por lá, apresentou faixas do seu novíssimo e aclamado disco “The 20/20 Experience”. “Push Love”, “That Girl” e “Suit & Tie” já são hits. Junto com elas, mesclou o set com sucessos da carreira, desde “Senorita” a “My Love”, passando por “Cry Me a River”, descrita como “épica”, já que ele se apresentou com sua nova banda de suporte, a The Tennessee Kids, composta por 15 pessoas. Dizem, as músicas novas ficaram ainda melhor ao vivo, mais encorpadas.

Sobrou espaço para a cover de “Need You Tonight”, clássica do INXS. Em certo momento da apresentação, Justin confessou: “I'm on drugs. I'm just… serious”.

* Um papo que vem crescendo nos bastidores é sobre uma segunda parte de “The 20/20 Experience” a ser lançada ainda este ano. Quem entregou a bomba foi Questlove, baterista da banda The Roots. De acordo com o músico, um volume 2 do disco de Justin Timberlake será lançado em novembro com outras 10 novas faixas. Questlove classificou o disco como “extremamente ambicioso”. Será?

Por enquanto, de novidade, só a foto do Justin com o Ryan Gosling. De 1994!!!
