Boom! O fim do Planeta Terra Festival

* Vou contar exatamente como me falaram. O tradicionalíssimo festival Planeta Terra, principal evento indie do país, NÃO deve acontecer mais a partir do ano que vem.

O mercado brasileiro de shows enlouqueceu. Se confirmado, o Planeta Terra se juntaria assim à crise que assola a rota de concertos internacionais, agravadas pela ''suspensão'' estranha do SWU, o malogro de público de Lady Gaga e Madonna, os cancelamentos de Coldplay, Fiona Apple e Norah Jones (estes últimos completamente entendíveis).

Mas vai de encontro, por outro lado, ao boom de shows que se insinuam para 2013, com o anúncio em breve da milionária turnê do Cure e as grandes possibilidades dos shows por aqui de New Order e The Who. Fora o mastodôntico festival de 60 bandas Lollapalooza em março. Fora o Rock in Rio gigantesco. Fora o lindo Popload Gig, haha, que já anunciou uma edição para o ano que vem e está prestes a anunciar mais outras duas.

Sabe-se nos bastidores que o Planeta Terra não foi bem de ingressos vendidos neste ano. Pelo menos longe do que era esperado (o ano passado esgotou em horas). Que teriam ainda ''encurtado'' o Jockey Club duas vezes para acomodar menos público e eliminar eventuais ''buracos''.

O Jockey foi outro problema. O festival, que começou em galpões e se estabeleceu no Playcenter, teria perdido seu ''charme'' de ser realizado em lugares ''diferentes'', com cara própria.

Enfim. vamos aguardar informes oficiais, possivelmente só no ano que vem.

O Planeta Terra existe (existiu) desde 2007 e já trouxe ao Brasil Iggy Pop, Strokes, Sonic Youth, , Smashing Pumpkins, Pavement, Lily Allen, Kasabian, Devo, Jesus & Mary Chain, Rapture, Bloc Party, Offspring, Devo, Foals, Animal Collective, Beady Eye, Phoenix, Hot Chip, entre muitos outros.

Julian, comandando os Strokes no PT de 2011. Festival, que acontece desde 2007, não deve continuar a existir a partir de 2013

Em comunicado divulgado no final da tarde de hoje, a organização do Planeta Terra informou que o evento está confirmado para o ano que vem. ''O Planeta Terra é um projeto bem-sucedido desde o seu nascimento. Audiência e interesse publicitário crescem juntos ano após ano. Temos a convicção de que o Planeta Terra 2013 será, mais uma vez, um enorme sucesso de público, crítica e de audiência ao vivo e e on demand no Terra, bem como de extrema relevância para os patrocinadores com sua marca associada à do festival. Para se ter ideia, mal terminou a edição deste ano, já temos cinco patrocinadores confirmados para o ano que vem e estamos em negociações avançadas como diversas outras empresas que estão entre as mais importantes do País'', afirma Rafael Davini, diretor-geral do Terra no Brasil, na nota.
