Durou 24 horas o boato-notícia mais cool do ano. Jonny Greenwood e seus demais companheiros de Radiohead, que estariam se preparando para o fim do mundo em São Luiz do Paraitinga, não estão no Brasil, informou um porta-voz da banda para a imprensa internacional.

A Folha de São Paulo soltou na tarde ontem, através de seu site F5, que o guitarrista estava hospedado na pousada Catuçaba, localizada entre montanhas próximas à Paraitinga, esperando o tal fim do mundo do calendário Maia, marcado para o próximo dia 21. Se o mundo não acabar, diz a reportagem, Jonny ficaria mais oito meses na cidade, dando aulas de música.

O secretário de turismo da cidade, Eduardo de Oliveira Coelho, disse à Folha que Greenwood havia chegado ao município no começo de dezembro e que os demais membros do Radiohead viriam para o país em breve. O dono do hotel também teria confirmado a presença do britânico por lá.

Agora, as informações oficiais por parte da banda dão conta de que tudo não passa de uma “mentira”, especialmente depois que a nota ganhou repercussão mundial em canais como o jornalzão Telegraph e o tablóide Daily Mail.
