Popload em LA. O Fuck Yeah Festival vai começar, para devolver o indie ao indie

* Já que os megahiperblaster festivais tipo Coachella e Lollapalooza tomaram o indie dos indies e o transformaram em mainstream, vem um moleque para devolver a música independente a um festival independente. Acontece hoje e amanhã em Los Angeles o delicioso Fuck Yeah Festival, festival de nome apropriado para abrigar 70 bandas do punk ao eletrônico em um parque no meio do centrão de Los Angeles, a região ''feia'' de Downtown. Imagine o centrão de São Paulo. Pense agora nessa área a caminho da restauração, ganhando ares cool de novo, novos restaurantes e clubinhos, reformas em parques e ruas. Enfim, a revitalização de lugares históricos.
Pois, do lado contribuidor indie hypster, o FYF Festival está fazendo sua parte.

O local do show é perto da prefeitura de Los Angeles, no Los Angeles Historical Park, colado já na famosa região de Chinatown. Ali, cerca de 30 mil pessoas por dia estão sendo esperadas para ver a partir de daqui a pouco a 9ª edição do evento, criado por Sean Carlson quando ele tinha 18 anos.

De edição em edição, o festival cresceu absurdamente, em tamanho, número de bandas, patrocinadores. A Goldenvoice, que organiza o Coachella entre muitos eventos musicais nos EUA, já se aproximou do FYF, para dar uma idéia. Uma ainda mais robusta e impactante edição está sendo prometida para 2013, quando o festival completa 10 anos.

Do dream pop do M83, do punk sueco do Refused, o folk delicinha do Beirut até a bombástica eletroferveção do Simian Mobile Disco, passando por gostosuras como Glass Candy (foto acima), Father John Misty, Paul Banks, The Faint, Future Islands, Warpaint, Chromatics, Chairlift, Tainlines, Twin Shadow, Liars, Yeasayer, Fucked Up, Health e, ufa, Dinosaur Jr e Vaselines, entre muitos outros, o Fuck Yeah Festival 2012 vai ter destaque aqui na Popload.

Os destaques de hoje do FYF são:

A Popload está em Los Angeles a convite da marca de óculos brasileira Chilli Beans, uma das patrocinadoras master do FYF Festival. Eles me perguntaram se eu queria vir para o festival e eu respondi: ''Fuck Yeah''.
